Coronavirus

Covid-19 Update 26th May 2020

GCIL and Covid-19

GCIL's first priority during this pandemic is the safety and wellbeing of the people we support and, of course, that of our staff (many of whom are also disabled people) and their families. All GCIL staff have been working from home since 23rd March and our offices in Glasgow, Kirkintilloch and Hamilton are closed until further notice. However, we are continuing to provide the majority of our services via telephone, email, and video-conference call where appropriate. These include: information and support for SDS users in Glasgow and our Take Control services in East Dunbartonshire and South Lanarkshire; payroll services; housing information, support and advocacy; and our Equality Academy NHSScotland Graduate Programme. We are currently reviewing how we might continue to support participants through our Open Door employment programme.

For anyone anxious about accessing help with personal care, shopping, or getting medication etc, we have provided some basic advice and contact information about resources which may be able to help on the Support page.

There is further information relating to specific GCIL services on the relevant pages of this website. In the meantime, you can continue to contact us through the usual channels:

Typetalk calls welcome

British Sign Language (BSL) users can contact us direct by using contactSCOTLAND-BSL

Email: gcil@gcil.org.uk, infoed@takectrl.ork.uk, infosl@takectrl.org.uk (or the staff member's individual email address)

You can also check our Facebook and Twitter pages for up to date information.

Please bear with us if responses are a little slower than normal.

We will continue to update this page until, hopefully, things return to something resembling normality. In the meantime, please take care and stay safe.
