Training Solutions

GCIL provides training on a range of disability issues, including Disability Equality and Disability Discrimination. We can also design individual courses to meet the specific training needs of an organisation. Disabled people who employ Personal Assistants can choose from a variety of training modules that will help them to be a good employer and to manage their own Independent Living Support Scheme more effectively. Details of the range of training modules are available from Training Solutions.

People who want to gain employment as Personal Assistants can attend a two-day training course. The first day covers a range of issues, such as Independent Living, the Social Model of Disability, the role of a Personal Assistant, Confidentiality etc. The second day is delivered by a qualified physiotherapist and covers the issues of moving and assisting safely and the use of various types of equipment such as hoists and transfer boards.
