GCIL is committed to protecting your privacy, whether you are a first time visitor to our website or a regular user.  Any personal data we collect through this website will be treated as confidential in line with the principles of good commercial practice and applicable law.

We may collect information about you (such as your name and e-mail address) in order to a) respond to queries b) provide you property matching information based upon what you tell us and c) provide you with up-to-date information from GCIL.  (We may provide your personal information to organisations directly involved in the update and/or maintenance of the website, including our website designers and technical consultants. This information will be used by such organisations only to perform their functions and/or to provide the service you have requested and for no other purpose.) It is not our policy to provide any further organisations with your details or information provided to us via our website, unless required by law.

We will aim to ensure that the information we hold is accurate and up-to-date.  You can check the information we hold on you by e-mailing us at the contact details at the foot of these terms or if registered on the housing search system by logging on and updating your own details.  If you find any inaccuracies we will delete or correct it promptly.  You have the right to advise us at anytime if you do not wish to receive information from GCIL (again, at the contact details given below).

'Cookies' are small pieces of information sent by an organisation to your computer and stored on your hard drive.  The new GCIL website is using cookies at present, only for the purpose of authenticating users.  They gather no personally identifiable information and they are only used for recognising whether a user is logged in and what information should be made available.
