Coronavirus

Covid-19 Update 24th March 2020

Message from GCIL's Chief Executive

This is clearly a worrying time for us all as the Covid-19 crisis appears to
be worsening day by day. I want to assure you that GCIL's first priority
is the safety and wellbeing of the people we support and, of course, that
of our employees (many of whom are also disabled people) and their
families. As of Monday 23 rd March, all our staff will be working from
home and our offices in Glasgow, Kirkintilloch and Hamilton will be
closed for the foreseeable future. We are currently trying to continue
providing some basic services, including payroll and support for SDS
users, so please bear with us while we resolve some of the issues
arising from remote working.
We know that many of you will be anxious about being able to access
even the minimum levels of support you may need with personal care,
shopping medication etc. We have provided some basic advice and
contact information on the Support page. We will also be liaising with
public authorities and third sector partners to determine how best we can
continue to provide support during this challenging time.
There is further information relating to specific services on the relevant
pages of this website and we will try and update these as the situation
develops. In the meantime, you can continue to contact us through the
usual channels - Tel: 0141 550 4455, email: gcil@gcil.org.uk,
infoed@takectrl.ork.uk, infosl@takectrl.org.uk (or the staff member's
individual email address) - please bear with us if responses are slower
than normal. You can also check our Facebook and Twitter pages for
up to date information.
Finally, can I urge you follow the recommended Government advice to
minimise risk and stay as safe as possible so that the NHS can make
best use of its limited resources?
